Our classes run continuously and you can join at any time. Anyone can join and learn either role they want. Traditionally men are the leaders and women follow that lead. Put another way, leaders interpret their artistic vision, whereas followers enhance that vision in real time as a universal language.
The core concept of the class is based on the fact that everyone learns different things at different rates.
We have multiple instructors in the class so we frequently will split up the class into separate groups to better cater to the students' needs. One for those that are challenged with what we're teaching, another for those that are lost needing to slow down, and another for those that are bored needing something more.
We cover complete training in dance, covering: -Figures & Footwork (Turn Patterns & Shines aka the steps) -Lead & Follow Techniques (Connecting to your partner) -Musicality (Connecting to the Music) -Body Isolations & Styling (Moving your body) ----Body Waves Up & Down ----Shoulder Rolls ----Rib Cage Rolls ----Hip Rolls ----Arm Styling ----Head Whips & More -Spinning Techniques
Defining Our Salsa Style - LA/NY Blend
This style is defined by dancing linearly also referred to as dancing in a slot or traveling on a line.
It is also the most popular style danced by most of the world known for its elegance and practicality. As often salsa clubs are smaller and space to dance is at a premium, so with this style more people can dance this at once and really raise the energy of the room.
Defining Our Bachata Fusion Style
To overly generalize what each of the main styles of bachata are -Urban / Modern (the turn patterns) -Traditional Dominican (the footwork that can be done as a solo shine or together) -Sensual (incorporating body isolations for more movement)
Learning to use a wider variety from each allows a greater connection to the music and richer experience together.
